Sony has announced the release of their eagerly anticipated F65 CineAlta Digital Cinema camera, which debuted at NAB.

AbelCine is now taking orders on this breakthrough camera, which is available for a limited time in special configuration at an introductory price.

The F65PACS package includes:

• SRR4 Digital Memory Recorder

• SRPC4 Data Transfer Unit

The F65RS in this introductory preconfigured package is $85K for all the components listed above. This price is good through year-end, and components and cannot be sold separately.

The F65 uses a 20 million photosite Super-35 sensor to capture unsurpassed high-resolution images with 14 stops of Dynamic Range. It records them in 4K RAW from 1-60fps and in 2K RAW up to 120fps. The F65 can also output 1080p in Sony’s robust SR recording codec. A spinning mechanical shutter of the RS model eliminates rolling shutter artifacts inherent with CMOS sensors. The new SR-R4 recorder accepts Sony’s new iPhone-sized SRMemory cards, which are available up to 1 TB in capacity. The SR-PC4 transfer station is used to download the SRMemory cards and features an optional 10G Ethernet output for extremely fast downloads.

The introductory price will end on December 26, and pricing will increase on all orders beginning January 1, 2012.
