NULL Target: Now Taking Reservations

The NULL Lens is the centerpiece of a family of optical products for Digital Cinema. Several new items and accessories will be added to the product line in the coming months. The first of these ancillary products to be released is the NULL Target.
The NULL Lens is a perfect tool when you are outside and can point at a distant building or tree line. You can use anything over a 150’ (50m) distance to set focus accurately to 5 microns.
In some situations however (such as close quarters or setting up in a van at night), this can be difficult. That’s where the NULL Target comes in. It contains a backlit Siemen’s Star — a focusing target that makes it easy and accurate to judge focus. Optics in the NULL Target bring the Siemen’s Star into clear focus at infinity. The NULL Target screws into the NULL Lens, and this coupled device is used to set back focus as usual — now you don’t have to worry about pointing the camera, because everything is built into the NULL assembly.
The whole unit is small, lightweight, internally powered, reliably accurate and easy to use. Pictured is the prototype NULL Target with the NULL Lens attached; the final shipping model of the Target is anticipated to be more compact. Abel Cine Tech is now taking reservations for the NULL Target, with delivery due to begin this March.
Along with the release of the NULL Target are a few pricing announcements. The price for the NULL Target is $1100. For all those who have already purchased the NULL Lens, this price will be discounted to $1050. As previously announced, the price of the NULL Lens has now increased from $1595 to $1695. However, if one purchases the NULL Lens and NULL Target together then the kit price is $2695.
This pricing is available for a limited time only. If you purchase the NULL Lens/Target kit you have the option to take delivery of the NULL Lens now and use it on its own immediately, or wait until the Target is available to receive both items together. Both the NULL Lens and the NULL Target come in their own protective cases, and the NULL Target’s case is large enough to carry both units mounted together.
To reserve your NULL Target or NULL Lens/Target kit, contact an Abel Cine Tech Sales Representative by phone or in person at our New York, Los Angeles or Chicago offices. Alternatively, you may make your reservation online in our CineStore.
