Hot-Swappable Phantom CineMags
Wednesday, 19 September 2007 10:32
The long-awaited CineMags for Vision Research’s Phantom HD and 65 high-speed digital cinema cameras are now available. These hot-swappable, non-volatile memory packs come in 256GB and 512GB sizes.
The CineMags mount on top of the Phantom camera, and greatly enhance your high-speed imaging workflow. You no longer have to spend valuable time on set waiting to download your shots once the camera’s internal memory is full.
Depending on your camera’s configuration, you can record directly onto the CineMag, or record to the camera’s RAM and “upload” to the CineMag in seconds. When the CineMag is full, or you are done with a series of shots, pop the CineMag off the camera and snap on another one. You can later use the camera as a “docking station” to view and download your high-speed movies, or use the Phantom CineStation (available in late 2007) connected to a PC and keep your camera free for capturing high-speed images.
To celebrate the release of the CineMags, we are offering a 10% discount off the purchase price until December 1, 2007. To use the new CineMags, existing cameras will need to be returned to VRI for a firmware upgrade. While the camera is being upgraded, the manufacturer will also clean the camera, sensor, and check it for optimal performance. The latest Phantom software with CineMag support will also be included in this service. New camera purchases will be shipped to the customer CineMag ready.
