Goodman’s Guides are unique because they provide the techniques you need to get the most from your camera in the field. You can instantly access the information you need, and the guides present a complete anatomy of the camera with clear, concise descriptions of every function and feature. Best of all you don’t have to be an engineer to interpret them.
Goodman’s Guides demonstrate the capabilities of the SDX900 or VariCam in a section called “Creating Looks.” Recipes developed specifically for each camera produce the gorgeous images depicted in the book. These images illustrate the range of the camera’s color, tone, and detail controls and are presented in a grid for easy comparison. A mini CD that comes with the book includes camera settings, the images from the book, and much more. The guides also include a set of laminated operator’s tool cards – useful charts, tables, and notation cards that can be stored in a front box. The book itself is designed to withstand the rigors of field use so you can take it with you no matter where you are shooting.
Robert Goodman set out to write the manual he always wanted, one that was written for camera operators instead of engineers. He brought all his experience as a photographer, director and independent filmmaker to the project, and now this valuable information is available to all.
Both books are available for purchase from our Cine Store.
